qER is the only CE-marked AI algorithm for CT scans that detects the complete range of critical brain lesions, including bleeds, infarcts, cranial fractures, mass effect, and midline shift. The tool picks up images automatically from the CT device and runs in the background, detecting abnormalities and highlighting critical scans to the physician. qER is compatible with scanners from all major manufacturers and fits directly into the existing radiology workflow.

The newly certified tool contains an improved (higher sensitivity and specificity) and extended (now includes infarcts and cranial fractures) version of the algorithm described in&nbsp;The Lancet&nbsp;in 2018.&nbsp;

This is Qure.ai’s second CE-certified product, after our chest X-ray algorithm qXR, which received the CE mark in May 2018. Both approvals will go a long way towards furthering our mission to develop clinically validated, accurate AI tools that make diagnostics more accessible and affordable.

The Radiological Society of North America's (RSNA) 104th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting emphasized the transformative role of AI and emerging technologies in radiology, with Qure.ai making notable contributions. 

Held in Chicago's McCormick Place, the event attracted 52,985 registrants and generated an estimated $160 million for Chicago's economy.

Qure.ai, a pioneer in AI-led radiology, demonstrated its commitment to cutting-edge innovation with four scientific presentations, enlightening discussions at its booth in the Machine Learning Showcase, and demos at its partners' booths.

The meeting also featured the RSNA Pneumonia Detection Challenge, with top honors going to Ian Pan &amp; Alexandre Cadrin.

Trained on more than one million chest X-rays, qXR detects 15 of the most common chest X-ray abnormalities with an accuracy of more than 90 percent. Taking only milliseconds to run, the product uses a heat map or bounding box to point out abnormalities to the clinician, facilitating rapid conﬁrmation. In settings without trained healthcare professionals, qXR is already being used to screen for tuberculosis, proving a valuable supplement to the existing healthcare systems. There are fewer than five companies globally that have received a CE certification for AI-based radiology products.

“The chest x-ray is the most commonly performed radiology investigation, but one of the toughest to interpret,” said Dr. Shalini Govil, Quality Controller for the Columbia Asia Radiology Group. “Qure.ai’s solution could serve as a radiology assistant, providing a draft report that can be validated by a physician or radiologist.
